Workforce Development & the AGC Skills Challenge
Each year, JCI hosts the AGC S+SWGA Skills Challenge, an industry-led competition designed to connect students with real-world construction careers. The event brings together high school construction programs, industry professionals, and trade partners for a hands-on experience that highlights both technical skills and jobsite readiness.
Through practical challenges, mentorship, and exposure to industry standards, students gain valuable insight into the opportunities available in construction, from craft trades to project management and leadership roles. JCI’s team members volunteer their time to plan, host, judge, and mentor participants, reinforcing our commitment to developing a skilled, safety-conscious workforce.
By hosting the AGC Skills Challenge, JCI helps bridge the gap between education and industry, supports career pathways, and invests in the future of construction.
