Position Overview

JCI Contractors is searching for experienced Construction Superintendents to run multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for maintaining all aspects of project construction and reports to General Superintendent and Senior Project Management. A successful candidate should have a strong background and proven record in commercial construction projects including new construction, additions, and renovations. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Field Personnel and Subcontractors to ensure work is completed on time, within budget and at the highest standard of quality

  • Maintains safety on the jobsite and enforces company and jobsite safety plan and all safety-related regulations

  • Partners with other project team members to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of construction

  • Develops and effectively manages detailed schedules and with budget and safety in mind to ensure project is completed by designated delivery date

  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings

  • Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, etc.

  • Manages self-perform crews

  • Oversees the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and the coordination of shop drawings

  • Maintains professional, positive relationship with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients

  • Supervises and coordinates subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms

  • Follows and enforces company policies and procedures

  • Coordinates and oversees project inspections



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Bachelors degree in construction related field preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant construction experience, preferably in concrete, masonry & steel construction

  • Experience supervising projects with values in excess of $5M

  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA

  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, etc.

  • Professional attitude and appearance

  • Willingness to travel preferred
